Things I’ve come to appreciate during the pandemic

I guess I have taken for granted the feel of crisp clean sheets. This morning I woke up with my left cheek on cotton crisp sheets, the red set - one of my favorites.

Just my luck, during the pandemic all three sets of my queen size cotton sheets have a tear right in the middle. We must sleep in a certain way because there is a tear in the bottom fitted sheet in the same place on all three sets! UGG.

How can I survive with mis-matched sheets? I am not going to order new sheets online. I like going to the store and touching them and feeling them. I like comparing prices and looking for a bargain.  I want to see the thread count, even though I don’t know what that means. All I know is from now on I will buy the highest thread count available.

When my younger son went to college he bought himself a full-size bed. Along with that he ordered several sets of cheap sheets. Yes cheap! Barely any cotton in them. You can feel the difference in texture, probably polyester.

In desperation, I used those cheap sheets and boy did I feel a difference. Not crisp, not smooth, But they had to do.

When the pandemic is over I will enjoy the freedom of being able to go to a store, whatever store it is. Just to buy my 10000000 count cotton thread sheets.
