As I sat mindlessly watching TV, I noticed all the Christmas cards I had strung together on the bookcase. 1/3 of them had this message: "Peace on Earth".
How ironic I thought, that in this world today, peace on earth is the antithesis of what is going on. War, hate, fear-mongering. Do people really mean it when they wish you peace on earth? Is anyone really wishing for peace on earth, or is it just a throw-away phrase?
What about "Joy", "Cheer", "Love". I do think people mean it when they say "Happy Holidays, or Merry Christmas", but what does "peace on earth goodwill towards men" (or as the WWF card says, goodwill towards all living creatures) really mean?
I wish for peace on earth, love for all mankind, kindness, compassion, normalcy, and letting common sense prevail.
I wish you peace, peace on earth, peace on the globe, in the galaxy and anywhere else its needed.
