About half way through the Loose-A-Poolooza, I told them I quit. Keep my $100, I don't want to do this anymore. I'm satisfied with the 5 pounds I lost. The organizer, Dan, was very sweet and said, "don't worry Julie, you only have to lose 1.66 pounds for the next 6 weeks. You can do it." No I can't nor do I want to.
I don't know what happened. Something kicked in and I just kept trying. I really credit my cardio tennis for helping to burn off calories. I specifically didn't want to give up wine, after giving it up for two weekends, oh my God, am I an alcoholic? You can save a lot of calories by not drinking wine.
When I joined the DTOX, I wanted to do it immediately. It came in a big box (I had no idea what was in there and no idea it was $200! Yikes). There's an incentive to lose weight on your own.
My Pilates instructor organized a bunch of us to do it together. I told her I wanted to start immediately and she took me down to the cafe to buy the kit. I read the brochure back to front, front to back 16 times in the first hour. How do you do it? What are the approved/non-approved foods? Sheesh, what is coconut oil & quinona? Can't believe I'm one of these people who have these huge tubs of protein powder, God I'm not 23 years old and a body builder. The funny thing is I had to lie to her. Don't start til we can all start together Julie. The first week is weaning your body off caffeine and other "non-approved" foods such as carbs and sugar. Then if you paid $25, a nutritionists went with you to the grocery store to show you how to shop. I didn't do it but ventured in to the gluten free/natural part of Shop & Stop which I never have. Now I know what Almond Milk and gluten free oatmeal are.
Julie did you start? Noooooo............................
