I'm back on the eat less diet. Many of you know I have a lifelong struggle with weight. Years ago when I lost a lot of weight, I did it by simply going on the eat less diet. The trick? Eat less.
I was so happy to hear one of my cousins repeat a story from his Mom (My Auntie Simmie). "I'm on the eat less diet", you just eat less. Julie told me about it. She was so happy to explain this simple concept to him, I can see her smiling now.
I joined a diet challenge at work, Loose-A-Poolooza. About 15 people joined & we had to put in $100 and lose 8% of our body weight, using any method we wanted over 3 months. 6 people dropped out and the rest made it, gaining the losers' $100. All told I got my $100 back and won $53. I've lost 12 pounds, but then stupidly joined a cleanse with my Pilates studio during the last week of the Loose-A-Poolooza. I'd never done a D-TOX before and was curious. Its a liver cleanse. No carbs, no dairy, no wine, no coffee, no eggs. Organic as much as possible. I actually love the smoothies I've been making for breakfast with the disgusting protein & fiber powders. I didn't even know I knew how to use a blender.
Today is day 13 of 14. Normally I would have been celebrating after the Loose-A-Poolooza was over but I was forced to continue for another week on the D-TOX and its working! I've learned something about myself. I can do anything if I try.
