Jungfrau, 4.8.12

Here's a picture of Jungfrau. Its the highest mountain in Europe. It means virgin, its so pretty. This was the view from our hotel dining room.  Only we didn't go there - it would have cost over $300 each to take the train/cable cars up there. Instead, we went to the town of Shilthorn to a mountain called Piz Gloria. One beautiful train ride and three cable cars up later, we were sitting in the revolving restaurant where a James Bond movie was filmed. See upper right on map).  Only problem was the weather was lousy, snowing and we couldn't see a thing.
Us and another Japanese tourist couple were the only ones in the revolving
restaurant with a view of clouds. $60 later on prosecco and cheese and prosciutto, we started down. The waiter was nice enough to turn on the "introductory movie" just for us--that was really nice. Just the 2 of us alone in a theater.  Showed how the movie, "In her majesty's secret service" was filmed up top as well as the "Inferno" ski race and a summer triathlon. Beautiful town--I want to come back in the summer for the lush green mountains and fun. We took the cable cars back down with the workers up top. Something so magical about being the only ones there.
