Louis Vuitton Foundation
Designed by Frank Gehry, the building is more impressive than the art (although when I went there was a very very good collection, The Morozov Collection showing). I LOVED this! Nothing like it anywhere else in the world for its architecture.
The Best Falafel in the World--we took a Marais food walking tour. And its true the falafel was great!
Luckily many were near our hotel and a nice stroll away (click above)
Visit the luxury department store Le Samaritaine just to see the architecture
Bike riding tour through the Versailles gardens.
We didn't' actually ride through the gardens inside which I would have loved to. You can rent a golf cart and take it through the gardens which would be fun (especially for those who don't like to walk)
A visit to the market 1st where we bought this foie gras |
We will always remember the BREAD & foie gras |
See me in the back? |
Van Gogh Immersive Experience (ALTHOUGH DALI WAS ON EXHIBITION). Just like the planetarium shows of our youth, just beautiful. I really didn't expect the Pink Floyd music (if you have already seen the Van Gogh experience you can skip this but Paris is where it originated).
Eating at Bouillon Pharamond! A must so much fun, such good food and so cheap. Bouillons are historically local eating places for working people.
Hubby & son ate here 2x and I would have gone back if they would have indulged me |
Visiting with old friends. A must!
Eiffel Tower at Night
I'd been 30+ years ago and it rained. Hubby booked night tickets & it was so crowded I felt claustrophobic with Covid -even outdoors |
Had to wait a long time in line to go to the top & son didn't make it on to same elevator. I watched him disappear as we went up 😢😢 |
I have to admit it was magic watching the lights shimmer and sparkle every 30 minutes...ok, it was worth the wait and cold.
Excellent Restaurant:
Les Cocottes - near Eiffel Tower:
son had squid in black ink rice |
Hubby had pork cheeks (yes cheeks) in potato |
tried to eat as much escargot as possible |
Pidgeon (like squab) |
Tried the public toilets and some stranger didn't know hubby was inside and pressed the button for automatic cleaning..........ugh...........we need to learn to speak French
