Thun Switzerland

An ex coworker's family is from Thun, in the German speaking part of Switzerland. It was on the way home from Interlaken, recommended by several as beautiful because it is on two lakes, so why not stop there for two nights?  So glad we did.

It’s a lake town, summer water sports and greenery.  We didn’t get to enjoy the beach but enjoyed the castle, Old Town and great restaurant discovery.

Hotel:  Hotel Emmental, 2 Bernstrasse, Thun 3600 Switzerland.  Near the castle, 15 minute walk from train so not that convenient, pretty basic.

Tight rope walkers over the river

Old Town

Famous for their omni-present flowers

Highlight of the town is the Castle.  Paid to get in and see an extra art exhibit which was one room.  What a gyp, but only 2 Francs.

David played with every coat of armor and prison cell

Met some old J&J co-workers in Thun for dinner who coincidentally had also moved to Switzerland.

Little meatballs over couscous and cream sauce  Reminded me of Moroccan lamb. So unique

When we checked in I got a glass of wine to bring to the room.  Just my kind of fruity wine!

Lots of people out at night.  Our first time travelling during C19 so a little freaky in the river tourist area

We bought two different tickets home on our mobile app.  Within one minute of each other via different routes.  Can you see the signs in the back?  We argued for 10 minutes over which one to take.
