Velocity

Continuing on the concept of velocity in the tennis serve, I realized while doing the backstroke velocity also applies.  While swimming in the pool one day I practiced reaching back as far as I could, then splashing the water with a strong stride up as I glided away..  You can create a lot of velocity under the water.

I concentrated on this and felt myself closing my eyes to avoid the glare of the sun and the splash of the water.  Felt great to go so fast head first backwards, pivoting side-to-side like I was stretching the sides of my back in a Pilates class.

When I closed my eyes I was so relaxed, I felt asleep, dreaming.  Is it possible to exercise while sleeping?  Would I drown if I didn't pay attention?  Stroke, stroke, stroke, reach, reach, reach no.
