Flank Steak

Here is the secret to life, my Mom's Flank Steak recipe, absolutely foolproof.

One flank steak
chopped garlic (about 3 tablespoons)
soy sauce (about 3 tablespoons)
ground pepper

score the flank steak so you can stuff the chopped garlic in to the slits
put the soy sauce all over the flank steak and push in to the scored slits
let marinade for 15 minutes ++
flip over and marinade/score the other side

Heat broiler to high
put flank steak in oven at highest level rack so the meat can be nice and char-broiled
broil for 7 minutes
flip over and broil for another 7 minutes

let sit for 2 minutes before slicing, across the grain

Say ummmmmm.........................
We serve with rice and spinach or broccoli
make sure you have a small teaspoon on the table to pour juice drippings on rice.

I miss my mother so much, but I relive her memory through our childhood foods.  We ate this at least three or four times a month growing up. I see her image making this, flipping the meat, then slicing it just as we sat down. I see myself in her image, doing the same thing.  Who hasn't become their mother?
