Basically the society is split into 2 opinions (those who support the action (putting yellow ribbons in their icons), and those who support police should take action to put things back in order (blue ribbon).
Amongst colleagues, some are very supportive to this occupying action and go daily after work, some even go very extreme. Some colleagues' kids cannot go to school these few days and they start getting worried when it can end (as schools in other unaffected districts are continuing their curriculum). We deliberately avoid discussing this during lunch or in office corridor (unless sure the other colleague has the same point of view as yours) to avoid argument.
(Personally I am very against this, reason: People do have the right to fight for democracy, but not by sacrificing other civilians that do not agree with this action, nor want to participate (in fact, the amount of people signing for "AGAINST OCCUPY CENTRAL" was more than those who support this. If they want to occupy to speak out their wish, why not occupy different parks of HK rather than blocking the main roads? Which create chaos for those people have to change transportation a few times going to work, elderlies have difficulties of going to hosps to take their long term meds (a lot of them only know their usual bus routes and got lost when it gets so complicated to go to clinics), restaurants have to let over $200,000 seafood die due to no customer during these few days, a lot of workers forced to take no paid leave (no customers) which directly affect their living....a lot of Western media glorifying this action in newspaper, what they are fighting for may not be bad, but the way they forcing other people to involve in this is not what I thin "democracy".)

Thanks Julie.
I have friends living in the protest area, if her family has any accident, no police, firemen not ambulance can access, that's why I really cannot endorse this kind of methods to protest, this is extreme selfishness.
Anyways..... (sigh)

Thanks Julie; a lot of colleagues went on street last night after the police used tear gas bombs on protesters, they are still gathering around Central District, Causeway Bay outside Sogo and Mongkok this morning.
Personally, I do not agree to use this method to protest government to change election method, hope the issue can be resolved peacefully without blood.
Some of my friends working in Central have to standby at home since it is not safe to go to work, our office is not near the protest area, so we are not affected,
