Last night I woke up at 2:30 and looked out the window to see if Gary's car was in the driveway. Didn't hear him come in. Car wasn't in driveway and I thought he was coming home around 11:30. Where is he? Should I be worried? Maybe he's just hanging out with friends. Should I text him? He's a grown man, so no I didn't text him. Don't be an over-bearing mother.
Couldn't sleep. Tossed and turned. Went downstairs and was surprised to see his bedroom door shut. Oh good, he's home. Should I open the door just in case to see? No, ran to the front door, looked out the window, yes, his car was there, I just didn't see it in the darkness.
Went back to bed, tossed & turned some more and woke David up. Sorry. Hhhmmm David, I'm going to buy your Christmas present on Monday.
"What is it?"
Can't tell you, its a surprise.
"Can I choose?"
No!
"Your gifts stink."
What????
"Why don't you get me a GPS with traffic alert?"
No, get that yourself.
We don't exchange gifts anymore. This started the year he got me a pocket book that was not made of real leather. I got him a pair of nice warm thick knit gloves with leather padding. He said they were so thick no one could use them & it wasn't possible to bend his fingers. That was the end of couples gift giving.
This year, I wanted to get him a fragrance-free before shave from Clinique or Kiehl's for Men. He uses this before shave green liquid that smells terrible. It gases me out. Every time I tell him, he accuses me of wanting him to have a bad shave, its not easy, bacteria on skin, blah blah blah. So, is this gift for me or for him? Merry Christmas.

I never know what to get for Mike, he always gets everything he wants for himself anyway and then when I get him something he returns it....so I just buy him clothes or stuff he needs, nothing interesting or slightly romantic :) Glad your son is home. Enjoy the holidays. xo
