In my first year of work at NW Ayer, I got in to the elevator after lunch with a bunch of co-workers. In the elevator was Cory, a boyfriend of a college friend from Stony Brook. Now he was a messenger. I didn't say hello. Was it because I was a snob and didn't want to acknowledge someone I knew was a messenger? Longest elevator ride of my lift up 39 floors. Should have said hello. He was silent too. I'll always feel bad about that.
