I invited my Brazilian colleagues to dinner. After all, they always take us out to dinner when we visit Sao Paulo, so I just thought it was what I should do.
“Julie, you are busy, don’t worry. Additionally we want to go shopping.”
“Where” I say?”
“We don’t know….maybe the Short Hills Mall.”
“OK, I live very close to the Short Hills Mall, I will take you” and off we go. I secretly want to go with them so I can buy what they buy—get some fashion smarts from the beautiful people.
One buys Christian Laboutin shoes. All buy iPods and iPads. All have shopping lists from friends and one has a shopping list for Sephora. My lucky day, one girl’s sister works in broadcasting and has a shopping list from her sister’s make-up artist. One of the clerks happily shops her around. She comes running up to us to show us the blush she’s getting from Nars called, “orgasm”. She shows us the box to prove its called orgasm – 1 of the most popular shades in the world she says.
The other Brazilian and I rush the clerk to also get orgasm. “Ceci, I also want orgasm I scream from the other end of the store. “Ceci, I want to have an orgasm” my co-worker screams out down the aisle. We run to the orgasm shelf and happily get orgasm (versus “Super Orgasm”) and walk away happy. We then proudly buy all the other items on my friends list – Naked 2 eye shadow kit by Urban Decay, (wow, I’ve never had an eye shadow pack with so many colors) and a foundation (didn’t buy it to add to the collection of foundations at home which I currently don’t wear), but bought a fancy brush for smoother application (its an investment, you need a good brush says Ceci).
I walk away about $100 poorer, but with a smile on my face. I’m one of the beautiful people, now that I have orgasm.
