The highlight of my vacation was San Gimignano--simply because of the beauitful view.
It was everything I thought Tuscany would be. Beautiful rolling hills with grape and olive groves. We drove to San Gimignano from our farm house-a beautiful winding countryside drive. when we got there, it was just as the book said, "touristy" but worth it. Didn't know if we should pay to climb to the top of the tower (every town had one for about 5 Euro)---but so glad we did. It was the highlight of my vacation.
