What Does Social Distancing Mean?

I hate the phrase social distancing.  What does it mean?  Is it a dance?  Is it a unit of measure?  Is it for people who are socially inept?  Is it for people who can't get a date or don't know how to read a map?

If you say that to a  75 year old they will give you that blank stare.  Who made up this term?  Some PR executive or social media millennial?

In the past, we would just say stay the fuck away from me.  Reminds me of the Sting Song, Don't Stand So Close to Me.  Pleease don't, stand so close to meeeeeeee,  🎵please don't staaaand 𝄞♪♪so close to meeee.  Can't get the song out of my head.  Memories of those smelly people standing in line in front or behind me in long long NYC lines.

We should just be specific and say everyone stand three feet away from each other.
