Farmhouse Il Prattone-

I loved staying at this small farmhouse--we didn't have enough time there. The owner Pietrina was a fantastic cook-she let us come half an hour early so we could watch her cook. We got to sample fresh, home made ricotta and pecorino...uuummmmm.

She made us a great breakfast with strong coffee everyday. Best part was the beautiful views of the vineyards and farmland. Everything I imagined Tuscany to be.
She made us "Maialino"--roast baby suckling pig......like Chinese faw yuk but better--see picture above--it was surrounded by roasted vegetables.

Pietrina barely spoke English- we typed in Google translater in order to communicate but she didn't really like to type. We communicated through her daughter and through sign language. Lost in translation!

It was a "real' farmhouse--we had to laugh--towels were paper thin------so old fashioned. Decorated with old fashioned Italian dolls which creeped me out at night. Can't really describe this enchanted place. All I know is I want to go back.
