Happy New Year 2011.
I was about to send out an inspirational note, to wish you a Happy New Year. I was going to say that 2010 was a great year for me and I don't know how I can top it (new job, new car, kids went to China during the summer, I spent time with son #2 in Shanghai, and he's driving, finished college apps, etc etc).
Almost feel jinxed that 2010 was so good, hopefully 2011 won't be bad. Its the law of averages, some good, some bad. On birthday's and holidays, my Dad used to say, "its just another day". Is today, January first just another day, or is the beginning of a great new year? Happy New Year......if you think about it what does that mean? Why do people say that? A year is a long time, 365 days--bound to be some happy and some not happy moments. Kind of doesn't matter because I've always felt life is what you make of it. You can choose to look at life as "just another day", or you can choose to look at life as a great new breadth of fresh air.
Well, that's how I felt until 20 minutes ago when son #2 called and said he was backing out of his friend's drive way and didn't realize the back passenger door was open. It flung open and hit a tree, and happy new year, it'll probably be $600-$800 worth of damage. Now I'm grouchy. Does this mean I'm going to have a bad year because its starting off with bad luck? Ugh. Deep breath, life is what you make of it (& don't say, "well, at least no one was hurt").
