THE PICTURE
My Grandmother went to Europe with a bunch of other old Chinese ladies from the village. My God, I hadn't been to Europe how did Grandma go to Europe? This must have been when I was 11 or 12. I have a pix of her outside some landmark church or Eiffel Tower or some other famous place. She refused to climb up the steps and stayed down---asked someone to take her pix. Can you imagine the Gow Gong ladies going to Europe? God help the Europeans. My grandma bought me a souvenir from Europe---a little red change purse which I love to this day.........Jesus how did this little old lady immigrant go to Europe? What a life!
