We are out of Quarantine!

Seven days in quarantine went by very fast with the modern conveniences of grocery delivery and take out.  With Netflix, Amazon Prime (thanks to David having every gadget imaginable) + the Australian Open + a sunny balcony I was honestly never bored.

First time out of the apartment and I have no idea why-but I was nervous.  What if we walked the wrong way?  What if we didn't know how to cross the street or lock our door?  After staring at Google Maps for a long time I let David steer us..........Walk along the lake or inside streets?  Each building, each awning was something new to look at.  We found a Vietnamese grocery store which was good news because we needed ginger.

We made a wrong turn and never found our way back to this store.

The test cost 60 Francs and was easy to get.  A nurse stuck the stick way up your nose, nothing like the self test at the Walgreens pharmacy drive through.  Hooray negative, we are free.  Had no doubt but until you get that you can't relax.

Felt wonderful to walk around & go in to the grocery store -- Coop the big supermarket.  Had to figure out how to weigh our produce and buy meat, had to buy a bag for 2 CHF even though we brought many. Tomorrow we register as residents in our town (Canton), Vaud and the next day we get biometrics tests.

I didn't know what a biometrics test is so I googled it.  I like #1 better than #2.  Is big brother watching you?

  1. biometric screening is a fancy name for a collection of your vital statistics. This type of screening typically measures your BMI, blood pressure, cholesterol levels, and blood sugar. The purpose is to give you information that might indicate risk factors for certain chronic conditions.
  2. Biometrics is the measurement and statistical analysis of people's unique physical and behavioral characteristics. The technology is mainly used for identification and access control or for identifying individuals who are under surveillance.
