Before I travel I always Google the top 10 things to eat in that region. Popular wines of Switzerland popped up, and one caught my eye because they described it as similar to Sauvignon Blanc which I love. Its called Muller-Thurgau. I put it in my calendar in the "Free Walking Tour" appointment entry so I'd remember it while in Geneva, instead of fiddling around and searching my in-box if I emailed it to myself.

I walked in to the department store recommended by my co-worker to buy chocolate, and low and behold, they had a 40% off wine sale! I couldn't remember the name of the wine, so I asked the clerk for a famous Swiss wine that tastes like Sauvignon Blanc! He showed me a few Sauvignon Blancs and I said, "no, its LIKE Sauvignon Blanc but not Sauvignon Blanc." He must have thought I was crazy. Then I remembered I put the name of the local wine in my calendar, and when he saw it he said "AHHHH -- Muller-Thurgau" & I got one for about $17! Yes it was fruity and delicious and similar to Sauvignon Blanc.
