Every day we walked this beautiful path from our rm to reception (10 minutes) |
I would recommend the Princess Hotel -- quite large, almost a factory, but very good service and design for a large complex. We had a junior deluxe suite which had a very comfy queen bed plus a sofa sitting area and balcony.
Our room, 6117 was situated in the middle -- great. Halfway between the front reception and beach at end. Nicely near the center swimming pools with swim up bars.
had a trolley if you didn't want to walk, Gary took it due to knee problems |
One of my biggest memories was how hard it was to get a beach chair. The first day we were there, we had to lay our towels out on the sand, as all the chairs were taken. From then on in, I learned the trick. You had to go and put your stuff on a chair by 7:30, have breakfast and come back in order to get a chair at either the pool or beach.
ah, this is what vacations are for + you need to remember to bring your room key boys |
It was hard to get these little huts, but when I finally did there was bird poop on the chair. Switched it for another, and continued to read my book (The Goldfinch) happily.
We walked back & forth to reception one day in the rain to arrange our trip to the Mayan ruins of Coba. When we were finally done we went for a massage on the beach. The rain had stopped & birds had walked on our towels (as evidenced by the bird footsteps on our towels). Surprise--it was empty, all packed up. Luckily they called the masseuse back & I had 1 of the best massages of my life! (even went back another day for more!). This is what vacations are for. The hut behind G & J on the beach is where they gave massages......
