Continuing on the Entenmann's cake theme. I remember so vividly a bake sale at school -- elementary school, PS 130 to raise funds for something or other. We'd always be popping pop corn and putting them in baggies to raise $ for our 6th grade trip to Washington DC.
As one bake sale wound down, and kids needed to go back to class, they had a fire sale. I bought an Entenmann's apple strudle (the long one) for 10 cents, yes 10 cents. How happy I was. A whole strudle, only 1 piece taken out and sold for ten cents. Funny thing is, I don't like apple pie. I don't like cooked fruit, but ate it anyway, relishing in my joy of a bargain, yes, 10 cents.
I was eating the strudle during class, and didn't realize it was my turn to give an answer. We had been going around the whole class, in order, answering questions at the end of a chapter. When it got to me, my mouth was full of apple strudle, I didn't even know it was my turn because I was too busy relishing in my apple strudle bargain. Mumble mumble, the teacher had to tell me what question we were up to and what I was to answer. AHHHAHHHH. :(
Sill can't resist a bargain.
