Tower of London, Feb 2019

Its fun to be a tourist in London.  I'd never been to the Tower of London, nor Abbey Road before so they were hot on my list  We got a fascinating look at London in the 1800s.  Built for commerce, we marveled at the exhibition demonstrating how the bridge draws up letting ships through. Originally the drawbridge rose up through steam and wire cables pulling two sides of the bridge up.  A visit to the engine room with a film on how the men loved working there because of its engineering feat was cool.

Welcome to London.
It all started with champagne and oysters at Borough Market the night before

I'd never been to Tower Bridget before, built in the 1800s.
It is a drawbridge and rises as ships pass through.

You take an elevator up an walk across both walkways.
Glass enclosed, its a great view of the city.

Open glass on the floor lets you look down, made me dizzy.

Lots of silly tourists sitting on the glass for a pose.

Next a walk to see the crown jewels, which you are not allowed to photograph.  The castle below, originally a jail, has a ton of rooms to see but we only wanted to see the jewels.

Only tourists do this, a trip to Abbey Road made famous by The Beatles.

No I didn't write on the wall.

Let it Be
