Fate & The Bus

I had a great morning in Geneva on the Free Walking Tour.  Told the guide I would be taking the afternoon walking tour around the WTO & UN area.  He pointed me in the right direction of the bus after the morning tour was over.

Buses can be confusing.  Wanted to hop on the bus to the train station but hesitated.  I knew how to walk from the train station to my hotel.  Decided to let the buses go -- even after they said Bus Station--wanted to be sure and wait for the bus to my hotel (#1 & #28).

Just then the guide comes running up and says, I'm going to take this bus too, but realize the afternoon WTO tour is cancelled.  My heart sunk.  Boo-I really wanted to hear the history, take the tour, see the important Government sites.  Oh well.  Stayed in the area, went back for fondue lunch.  Not so bad after all.

Fondue #3

I had wanted to go back to the Cathedral and walk up to the top.  Knew it would cost 5 Francs--ready!  Huffed and puffed up the circle stairs--who would know they would tell you to wait/go/wait since the staircase was so narrow.  Made it!  Only one problem-I walked in the wrong tower.  The church bells and outside views were in the other tower.  quickly I ran down (who cares if people were coming along the narrow staircase) + found the opposite (North) tower. Ran up three flights huffing and puffing.  I did it!  Some other lady wanted her pix taken with the beautiful view, so she in turn took my picture.  How lovely.

.  I decided to stay and wait til 3pm to hear the next set.  Lucky I did!.
