Are Ladybugs Related to Zebra's?

Ladybugs are beautiful creatures, they shouldn't be insects. They are feminine, small, perfectly rounded with a vibrant deep red. Ever wonder how they got their spots or why their spots are perfectly spaced?

Reminds me of a zebra. Zebra's look so soft and peaceful and regal. Wish I could pet one and feel their beating heart rise up and down through their fur. Ever wonder how they got their stripes or why they are so evenly spaced in perfectly vertical patterns? The black on white is such a stark contrast, they don't look real, they look painted.

So why do some creatures have spots vs stripes, vs humans who have nothing (but patches of eczema like me)? Why do humans come in different colors unlike other mammals who come in different shades of fur?

I have no idea why I'm wondering about this, but when you contrast the lady bug with the zebra, it makes you think of all animal ranges in between. Spots (leopards, giraffes), colors (parrots), patterns (lizards, alligators). Perhaps I should go back to school for biology or genetics or evolution. Or perhaps I should just wonder and visit some zoo's.

One last question. Is the zebra related to the unicorn? (Yes). Then why isn't the unicorn real?
