Getting Ready

Today is Monday, I took the week off to help Gary get ready, what a waste. He's never here. Thinking of making all of his favorite foods, but we just end up eating without him.

He keeps getting the talk from us, do your best, try your hardest, be yourself, pace yourself, lock your door at all times, even if you go to the bathroom, if your roomate's girlfriend stays over, tell them to get out........ Yesterday David and I fought over who should go with him to Kohl's to buy pants, how pathetic.

We'll leave first thing Saturday, unpack him and then ofcourse go and eat seafood (lobster rolls and friend clams). Then go to my Dad's in Hemlock and cry my eyes out. I hope David can drive while I cry.

Here's some packing advice. We've cleared off a loveseat in the corner for all his college stuff and have gotten two big bins for him to start dumping his stuff in (like fans, pens, etc). Whenever I see something I think he'll need (like shampoo, I dump it in so we won't be so last minute). Mad dash to put aside all his sheets and towels so Jake doesn't use them between now and Sat. Hard to think about winter coats and boots but I'd rather send him with too much than too little.

Target and all major stores have a packing list in their circular and I've saved just about every one of them. Refilling any prescriptions and contact lense stuff is happening now too.

I have Olympics withdrawal and don't know what to do with myself but wonder if you really need all that stuff they show you in the college time circulars.
